La Forge

La Forge accommodates up to 5 guests - the charm of its thick stone walls and beams are a reminder to its 18thC history but now well-equipped to provide all your need for a comfortable stay. Overlooking the pool and gardens, La Forge is the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the sights and sounds of the french countryside.

Le Pressoir

Le Pressoir accommodates up to 4 guests - the sister gîte to La Forge, Le Pressoir echos its character. The wraparound balcony provides views of the gardens, pool and village church. There is a locked adjoining door that enables the two gîtes to be opened up, suitable for families holidaying together or those wanting extra space.

The Cottage

The Cottage accommodates 2 guests - tucked away behind the orchard, The Cottage is simple but well equipped to ensure you have all you need, making it the perfect place for a couple or small family to relax. Enjoy a game of boules or simply relax with a glass of wine in the private garden.

The motto of our department La Vienne is "Tout pour vous séduire" or "everything to seduce you"

Couhé

Our cottages are in the small typically-French village of Ceaux-en-Couhé which is set in the heart of tranquil countryside. You may wish to do nothing more than sunbathe by our pool or read in the garden, but if you wish to soak up French life, here are some of the things you will find.

In our village stadium and Citi-stade you can play tennis, volleyball or football, there are several areas for playing ‘boules’ or ‘pétanque’ and there’s a children’s play park. The café is across the road beside the church.

In our local town of Couhé, 4 km away, the markets take place in the renowned medieval covered market “les Halles”, next to the chateau. The nearest tourist office is there. You will also find 2 supermarkets, boulangeries, pharmacies, post office, doctor, dentist, hairdressers, garage and bar/restaurants amongst other small traditional enterprises.

SURROUNDING AREA

The area is ideal for rural activities such as walking, cycling and horse-riding, and within easy reach is the River Vienne for water activities. There are lots of signposted walks, and the gently rolling countryside makes for easy cycling.

The local area has chateaux, churches, abbeys and other historical buildings to visit, as well as tourist attractions. For example: the “Vieux Cormenier” Museum offers insight into life on a French farm in ages gone by and La Vallée des Singes (Monkey Valley) will appeal to animal-lovers of all ages.

For sport aviation and trial flights there is the local aerodrome and you can even fly light aircraft at the international airport at Poitiers.

The historic town of Poitiers offers many attractions, including good shops in the city centre, many beautiful buildings, theatres and museums and notably the famous theme park Le Futuroscope.
